Tea at Macha on Wednesdays has become something of a ritual for me. I come here to decompress, study and soak up some vitamin D in front of one the many windows. I love the formality yet informality of it all. I spent a semester studying tea and the Japanese tea ceremony last year and the ritual that is intertwined with the practice of tea can be caught in glimpses here. Sometimes the little formalities are nice.

I heard of that place before I left Madison and never got the chance to visit--maybe next time I am in Wisconsin we can go? :)
That would be nice :)
Indeed, sometimes the little formalities can be nice! My mother, every time she makes coffee, still goes through the trouble of pouring it in her fancy coffeepot before serving it to us whenever we visit. It makes coffee time all that more special. So I know exactly what you mean. Great post!
I'd love a gorgeous little nook in a cafe like this to study in! Perhaps I'd get more done... :S
Happy New Year!
